Breakfast Smoothies
Quick and Healthy Starters

Breakfast smoothies are often made with dairy or dairy alternatives to give them that creamy texture. No matter what your milk preferences these recipes provide a quick and healthy breakfast in a glass.

For those of you who prefer a milk free diet there are a variety of substitutions available today. Some people prefer yogurt, tofu, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk or rice milk which are readily available at most supermarkets.

All of these types of milk varieties offer good sources of protein and calcium and are important for growing children or adults and seniors who require higher amounts of calcium in their diets to prevent osteoporosis.

Of course the beauty of these healthy breakfast recipes is that they are quick to make, delicious and filled with a serving of nutritious fruit.

I tend to use bananas in a lot of these recipes only because I love the sweetness they offer, how filling they are and the high levels of potassium they provide.

For the best smoothies always use fruit that has fully ripened.

Use these recipes to start off or create your own brand of a special breakfast smoothie to start the day off right.
