Natural Constipation Remedy

This natural constipation remedy is a great way to stay regular and prevent that bloated feeling.

I’m excited to share this with you and hope it helps anyone or anyone’s family members that may need a little help in this area.

A good number of my friends, family members and acquaintances have tried this system out and it has worked wonders with both adults and seniors.  It is safe for children and pets too and has a list of health benefits.

Believe it or not this natural constipation remedy has only two ingredients in it.

Chia and any liquid of your choice, such as water, coffee, tea, juice, well you get the idea.

These little seeds are super healthy and easy to eat.  You don’t need to cook it or anything.

First of all here is what these little chia seeds offer us health wise.

Chia Seeds contain an abundance of:

  • Omega 3 essential fatty acids (highest of any plant food)
  • Antioxidants
  • Fiber
  • Protein
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Phosphorus
  • Niacin
  • Vitamin C
  • Calcium
  • Zinc
  • Iron
  • and is gluten free

Since they contain all these vitamins, minerals and nutrients the following health benefits are believed to be obtained through digestion:

• Known to help lower the risk of stroke, heart attacks and cardiovascular disease

• Helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure

• Provides tryptophan (amino acid) which helps regulates intestinal movements, provides a feeling of well-being, regulates appetite, sleeping patterns and helps with cognitive functions such as memory and learning

• omega 3 acids also convert into prostaglandins which are known to have pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties

• helps stabilize blood sugars making it ideal for diabetics

• high in antioxidants and packed full of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorous, folic acid which are essential for good health

• known to help increase energy levels

• assists in weight loss by providing bulk and nutrients while adding very few calories

• helps with constipation and other digestive issues

Though these seeds are super small they carry a super big nutritional punch.

What a simple way to increase nutrition and help with bloating, constipation and even weight loss.

So Here are the instructions for this Natural Constipation Remedy:

You may be tempted to laugh when you read this, as the instructions are So Very Easy….

At any time in the morning hours take 1 teaspoon of chia with your morning beverage.  Yup, just grab a spoonful right out of the jar/bag and wash it down with a few gulps of your favorite morning beverage.

Try to consume a full 8 oz. of liquid with the chia.  This will help it expand into a jelly like texture that will be helpful when passing through your digestive system.

That is the beauty about chia seeds; they are healthy at any time of the day, with or without food as long as you drink enough liquids with them so that they have the moisture to expand inside your tummy and intestines to work efficiently.

Then you can repeat this step in the afternoon or before going to bed or both depending on how much help you need.

Next:  Monitor your success

Everyone is different so you will have to feel out the amount of chia that works best for you.

First I would try 1 teaspoon twice a day for about 4 days to see how this natural constipation remedy works for you.  If it works too well then decrease the amount, not good enough then add ½ to 1 more tsp. to your day.

They say too much of anything isn’t good for you and that would apply to chia seeds too.  Up to 4 teaspoons a day is fine but anything more you have to be the judge of how you feel.

See chia contains a lot of fiber which is great, but too much of it without enough liquid may cause some negative digestive issues.  PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE.

Because chia seeds are very healthy it really doesn’t matter what time of day or night your take them, just figure out a regiment that best suits you.

How the Chia Seeds Work in this Natural Constipation Remedy:

Fiber is very important in our diets to keep us regular and prevent constipation and that is one of the main reasons that chia seeds are so helpful in this area, because they are loaded with fiber.  If your diet doesn’t include enough fiber then adding chia seeds to your daily routine will help add the fiber your body needs.

Also the chia seed can absorb up to 12 times their weight in liquid which then turns into a gel like texture.  This extra bulk in our digestive track is fantastic to help prevent constipation as it makes the stool less hard and easier to eliminate.

Want other ways to eat chia seeds besides just eating them dry with a spoon?

Just because I’m lazy and just eat a spoonful of chia and drink a beverage with it doesn’t mean there are not better ways to enjoy your chia seeds.

When trying this natural constipation remedy you can add them to:

Yogurt

Hot and cold cereals

Sprinkle on salads

Any kind of dressings, such as salad dressings

All Sauces and gravies (like pasta sauces)

Add to smoothies or milk

Fruit Juices

Water

You can add them to your children’s pudding, what a great way for your kids to eat something really healthy.

Natural Constipation Remedy - TIPS:

Taking chia seeds about ½ hour before breakfast, lunch or dinner are a great way to eat less during meal times, because the chia and the liquid you need to drink with it expand in your stomach which can fill up a little extra space in your tummy.

I tend not to take chia too late in the evening because when you eat chia you have to drink a cup of liquid too and that just makes me want to get up in the middle of the night to pee (just keeping it real).  But for those of you who enjoy a warm beverage before going to bed then that may be the perfect time to take a spoonful of chia.

Chia is extremely healthy and safe so all you have to do is use your best judgment when trying to figure out how much chia will work for you.  If you have to increase the chia to ridiculous amounts without success then this remedy is not for you, but it was worth a try.

Try to buy organic chia seeds if possible as they are grown without the use of pesticides which is always beneficial.

Natural Constipation Remedy - Caution

Though it is extremely rare to be allergic to chia seeds (which belong in the mint family) there is a small possibility it could happen.

Food allergy symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, rash, difficulty breathing and tightness of chest.

So with that being said, if you are trying chia seeds for the very first time and experience any of the above listed symptoms, discontinue and seek medical attention.

Please do not eat too much chia as we know over doing anything is never a good idea.  Too much fiber in the system can also have negative impact, especially when the body may not have enough liquid in it to absorb the seeds properly.  Please be wise and use good judgment.

If you’re having problems with constipation I  hope you give this natural constipation remedy a try and if you don’t have any problems in this area you can still add a little chia to your everyday diet just for the health benefits they provide.

Take care of yourselves and each other

Wishing you all health and happiness
