Black Tea Benefits
A Healthy Weight Loss Beverage

Black tea benefits have been used for years not only as a popular hearty flavored beverage, but as a weight loss tool that offers many health perks.

Though green tea has seemed to steal the spotlight lately, this darker variety is still the most popular amongst consumers because it offers such a rich robust flavor.

Black Tea Benefits

Black tea is originally green tea, but the leaves are oxidized (dried for a long period of time and then fired to seal in flavor and aroma).

Though these two teas come from the leaves of the same bush, green tea is not oxidized, whereas black tea is fully oxidized.

Why are Black Teas so popular:

People love this tea in the morning as it contains a decent amount of caffeine to help you wake up and boost your energy levels.

Some of the more popular varieties consumed are Earl Grey, Darjeeling, English Breakfast and Tetley Orange Pekoe.

These teas can be bought as tea bags or purchased in a loose leaf variety.

Black Tea Benefits:

Black tea benefits contain flavonoids, which help reduce the production of LDL – which is the bad cholesterol that can lead to stroke and heart attacks.

Flavanoids can also improve endothelial function, which helps control the constriction and dilation of blood vessels, therefore reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Studies have shown improved blood vessel function and regular consumption can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

Yes, these teas also contain antioxidants such as polyphenols and catechins that can help with disease prevention, especially helping reduce the risk of many different types of cancer.

This is a great beverage for people who want to lose weight as this beverage boosts metabolism and if not sweetened has practically zero calories.  It's a great way to fill up your tummy between meals.

Tips:

Unlike the Matcha green tea, where boiling water shouldn't be used, these black varieties need boiling water and can be steeped up to 3 - 4 minutes to get lots of its flavor out.

The best part about tea is that you can drink it hot or cold, whatever your preference.

A study from Germany back in 2006 had revealed that adding milk to your tea decreased the health benefits offered that help reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.

The two most popular ways that consumers enjoy black tea benefits is either with milk (and sugar) or with lemon (and honey).

Risks:

There are no real risks except that black tea does contain caffeine so anything over 4 cups a day may be overdoing it in the caffeine consumption for some.

Contains a stimulate called theophylline which can speed up your heart rate for a short time.

If you haven't tried a cup take the time and introduce something good into your diet.

Cheers

Wishing you health and happiness always.
